Running Cossatot Falls at a low level

Post by kayakmamma » Tue Apr 14, 2015 8:27 am

We ran the Falls to Deer Camp for the Level 4 Kayak Instructor's Development Workshop this past weekend and I thought it was a blast! The level was around 2.6 to 2.4 feet ish, we ran it Friday and Saturday, videoing the candidates , picking lines, catching tiny eddies, practicing group management and many other skills. The water chanalized through the Falls and became quite technical. It was still super fun, very runnable and challenging. Washing Machine dropped from Class IV to a technical Class III. Good fun!

A great level to really hone in on your technical skills and strokes.
