Lower Cadron Creek U.S 65 to Ark. 285

Post by Chicago Bob » Mon Mar 16, 2015 11:02 pm

This is an often overlooked section, due to the popularity of the Pinnacle Springs section upstream. This overlooked 10 mile section has good rapids, great scenery, and a easy shuttle. Meet at the put-in under the U.S. Highway 65 bridge at 12 noon. BOB

As I said in the other cadron thread, I can slip away around 3 ish and be at the put in by 330 ready to paddle. Are y'all gonna run it more than once?

They won't be paddling 65 to 285 more than once. It's approximately a 10 mile stretch.

I should be in, what is the take out like my truck is a 2WD but I can carry at least 5 kayaks. Going to try to talk my son into coming too, how long do you think this run should take?

David, the take out is on Arkansas 285. It is a Fish and Game access with a boat ramp. Post or call if you coming for sure, as if not I need to bring along my shuttle vehicle. BOB 501-226-9729

This is a great trip that we've not been appreciating! Local families donated both accesses for this area & the fishing is great :canoe:

did this section yesterday. good size waves at current level in some rapids. the boat ramp at the take out is completely covered in mud....deep mud down by the water getting less deep as you go up toward the parking lot.

Although the temperatures had dropped and it rained on me off and on all day. I was a happy camper, the Take-Out bridge came into view all too soon. I also got the chance to try out my new motor scooter on its first shuttle. It now haw 14 miles on it. BOB
