The board meeting will be on rain, shine, sleet, snow, etc... A beautiful weekend in the Ozarks!

So......any chance there will be enough precipitation to allow some paddling Saturday? :crossed:

Tim, we may not have enough water to paddle on Saturday, but the weather forecast calls for the rain to stop by mid-day. So bring a mountain bike.

May do that. Must admit that my conditioning level is lower than optimal, however. I'll need downhill trails and a shuttle.

Paddling seems unlikely but I'm bringing a boat just in case. As Ranger Cap'n Woodrow F. Call said, "Better to have this and not need it than it is to need it and not have it." I'm not a mountain biker but I'll be prepared to ramble on a trail somewhere and most importantly to see some friends I don't often get to see.
You come too.

Cap'n Call must have been a rafter and drove the Suburban of his era.

However, I thought the NWA has more to offer then hiking, so I talked to one of our members today to see if he would be interested in leading a mountain bike excursion on Sat morning. He thought that was a good idea, but wanted to know if anyone would participate. Would anyone be interested in mountain biking on Saturday morning if there is no flow? I don't want to ask him to lead a group and nobody show up. Post up if interested.

I plan on being down by 10 am, if no water flowing in the creeks, to help lead a mountain bike excursion. I'll be in a white Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. I've heard there is a section of trail in the Park we can explore & if we want to venture out further Devil's Den trails are close by.

Just a heads up on trail conditions. Currently trails wet & covered in snow / ice so hopefully we'll at least get enough rain to melt most of it off. So no matter what the rocks & roots will be slick and there should be plenty of mud. Don't forget your cold/wet riding gear, along with helmet and any protective gear since conditions will be conducive to not remaining upright.

Just a heads up, our roads are slicking up here in Winslow/Lake Fort Smith State park. We have a light freezing drizzle/fog right now. Take em slow,

Great meeting with great people.
For those who don't know, these meetings are open to all members.
Attend the next one and see how the state level club operates.
And the pot luck dinner is always top notch.
There was some amazing food I hurt myself on.
Thanks to all who work so hard to get it right........

Like. As always a great time. Big shout out to Liz for putting it all together and keeping the meeting "short" and productive.

Any discussion regarding partnering with the Forest Service to build a pit toilet at Campbell's Cemetery?

Thanks!

There was a pit toilet at Campbell's but it had to be removed and replaced. Replacement part is awaiting funding. Forest Service Ranger Dunk is open to partnering with the ACC to see if it can be expedited.

We partnered with the Cossatot rangers on the facilities at the Tot years ago. I'm hoping we can help make something happen for this much used area.
