eleven point question
Does anyone know how far it is from Hall's Bay Shoal to Riverton access?
I'm thinking about paddling upstream from Riverton to spend some surf time at Hall's Bay, but I don't remember how far it is.

Re: eleven point question
Randy, one of my guides says 1.7 mi. & the other says 2.0 mi. Don't know how hard it would be to get up there. I'm guessing that you would probably have to get out and portage a couple of times. I've actually thought about doing the same thing. That shoal has a decent wave at the bottom which is definitely surfable. In fact, several years ago, Cindy and I were doing an overnighter there, and when we got to that rapid, we pulled our Old Town Appalachian over, unloaded it, and I hopped in and played for a while. The only problem at that time was that there was a downed tree in the eddy which I was trying to enter the wave from. That's been at least 10 years ago, so it should be gone by now. Let me know how it goes.

Re: eleven point question
thanks Terry, a little over a year ago, I also was on an overnighter and unloaded my Old Town Cascade ( the short version of your Appalachian ) and spent some quality surf time there.
Think I'll take my Ocoee up there tomorrow and give it a try.

I'm thinking that it would be better to drive up to Boze Mill Spring, then paddle down to the shoal (half a mile). Just cross the bridge on 160, travel about one mile, then take a left on 152.
Wish I could join ya. (Wife has Dr. appointment tomorrow).

Thanks Terry, if I go, I'll do that.
We should paddle together this year. Been too long since I've seen ya.
Have fun at the Dr's office.

Re: eleven point question
I live about fifty miles from there. I run from boze mill to the riverton access all the time. Just so I can play in the rapid. What I usually do is call hufstedlers (the outfitter across the road from riverton access) pay them like 10$ park my ride at the riverton access. And have him shuttle me to boze mill. Its like 2.5 miles total. If you get a chance eat at crumpies in bilmore. 4miles west on 142 from the narrows access and bridge. Best bar b que around. If u need directions or advice on routes give me a call. This is my home turf. Lol 870-378- six one two 8

thanks for the good info Shawn, in reference to your PM, i was thinking of getting there today around 10:00 but I ended up staying home and smoking a Pork Butt. I'll get up there before too long though.
Deuce, I was with Paul on the trip that I referenced in my last post. Where were you?
