Winter/Spring 2015 Wetland Touring Schedule
Arkansas Canoe Club
Hello swampers!! I am finally getting out a schedule of trips. It has been a while since we have had a schedule of wetland tours. I am looking forward to reconnecting with old paddling companions and meeting new ones. These trips are open to all comers and all skill levels who wish to get outdoors in some beautiful places, see wildlife and ancient trees.
Pay close attention to this schedule. The following list of trips is subject to change due to weather or water levels. If weather is good but water levels are poor, the trip will reroute to a better location. We go in some pretty poor weather conditions but, if it is really too bad, we will cancel or reschedule. I also may be making adjustments to avoid conflicts with other club gatherings or to fine tune it due to some hunting events during the season, such as special permit hunts.
A week before each trip occurs I will post a brief description of the trip with meeting times, locations and any other directions. Post general comments or questions on this thread. Post specific questions or comments about the next upcoming trip on that trip thread as it is posted.

Debbie,
Thanks for posting the schedule. The New Year's Day float is always a fun one, I'll be watching the weather and hoping to come along if I can.
Best Regards
Jim

Hello.
I'm new to Arkansas and to this club. I've been launching my boat and paddling around the area just below the Two Rivers bridge. But, I get a bit nervous always paddling by myself. I need to meet some fellow boaters and get to know some area streams. I have a flat water boat.
If possible, I would really like to join your group this Saturday, March 28, but,I'm not sure if the trip is suited to my boat. Would you mind giving me an idea of the water you are on this weekend? Thank you very much! carol

Can you provide a few more details on your "flat water" boat? Is it a kayak or canoe? Do you know the brand/model?
I'll let Debo describe her trip more but Bayou Deview is a beautiful place. Here are a couple of photos...

Well, it's a handmade boat. I'm the manufacturer! I've paddled it all over the Chesapeake and up and down the Susquehanna and even in and out of some frilly little moving water. But, best on slow-moving streams. doesn't turn all that quickly. Is this bayou where the group is paddling? Please say it is. I can't wait to see it!!!!
love love love the water.

CSM,
I just started a new topic for the Bayou DeView trip, so I'll answer your question over there.
