700 reasons for touring kayaks
See great article on Lisa Jackson's 700 mile circumnavigation of Lake Ouachita by kayak in today's Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Arkansas Section: http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2014 ... -20141201/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: 700 reasons for touring kayaks
Jodi,
I got yesterday's paper out and read the article this morning. That sounds like an accomplishment that Lisa will fondly remember. Her next aim of paddling the 40 mile length of the lake also sounds good but not in one day for me, I'd have to stretch that out a bit. I had a roommate that paddled the length of the lake in a Blue Hole canoe in 1975 as part of his epic headwaters to confluence trip on the Ouachita River.
In 1984, I spent several days circumnavigating DeGray reservoir (Lower Lake), certainly not on the scale of Lisa's sojourn, but also really enjoyable.
Thanks for posting the article!
Best Regards
Jim
