For Sale 1990 Dagger Caper Sold
I have been the only owner of this Dagger Caper. I have outfitted it to paddle either tandem or solo. The pedestals are homemade. The canoe contains 16 D-rings, not a world record for my outfitting, but close to the top number. There are 6 thigh straps included. The air bags are original and have a few small patches, but they hold air. The middle of the hull was delaminating, and I chose Kevlar patches followed by some Sea Goin' Poxy Quick to add rigidity. The delamination seems stable. Those patches have been in place for many years. The canoe has been hanging from my carport for all of its life except river trips. I am asking $300. Larry Pearce

I am dropping my asking price to $200 for the Caper. The boat is in Fort Smith. Larry

Hey Doc,
Is that the first edition Caper with the shallower gunnels but same hull as the later models. I sold mine to Grant. It was a 1988 model. If it is Stevie wants it. Probably even if it isn't! She tired of falling out of her Probe 11!
Thanks -Geo.

George, I don't know if this model is the first one. You are welcome to come look at it to see if it is something Stevie wants. I did pull in the gunnels in the middle by a couple of inches during one of my reoutfittings. I think I have some longer thwarts that you could use to replace the existing ones if Stevie wanted the wider gunnels. Larry

Larry,
Reaching way way back in my memory banks, I remember setting in my kayak on the right bank eddy at the Middle Fork of the Salmon's Tappan Falls. I knew you and Miss Gayle were tandem in your Caper right behind me. The Middle Fork was running hi on that trip and I fully expected to peel out and do some rescue work as the bottom roller of the Fall's chute was over my head and almost stopped me when I blew thru on my run.
I was in the perfect spot to see you and Miss Gayle hit that stopper wave head on. The canoe instantly spun to the river left. You and Gayle both in perfect sync put out two of the most perfect braces I have ever seen. You guys side surfed that monster hole for some time, then shot river left and out across the wave face at super man speed. I doubt if you guys heard me over the roar of the water, but I was whooping and hollering big time.
One of the two best tandem canoe moves I have ever seen then and now. Gayle was involved as well in the other one, but that is another story.
I know you made a ton of just awesome memories in that boat (I am hoping it was the same canoe) but I will never forget you two performing tandem canoe moves as flawless as can be. What a day to be on the Middle Fork!!!!
Had to be difficult to see that fine canoe leave the house.
