Central Chapter Dutch Oven cookout and potluck, Tuesday

Post by Tim Eubanks » Thu Oct 02, 2014 10:47 am

Tuesday October 28, Alsopp Park (3700 Cedar Hill Rd, Little Rock). We will again have the pavilion from 4pm till we leave. Plan to eat around 7. That should give you time to make some awesomeness in your Dutch Oven or grill some awesomeness, if that's your thing. This is a potluck, so bring enough for your crew and a few more. Great opportunity to see how the whole Dutch oven thing works if you've never witnessed it or tried it.

Drinks are on you, Adult beverages OK.

Paper plates, plastic ware provided.

We have 15lb of charcoal, first come basis, should be enough for lots of DO's, and a propane burner for your chimney.
We will build a big fire in the fireplace and wish we were camping on the river bank.

See ya'll there!

Only a week away! This is a pot luck, so if you show up you better bring some chow! If you don't have a Dutch oven come on and get a quick how-to from experienced (? ) cooks. There is a charcoal grill on site or you can bring one if you'd rather do that.

Clarification: treat this event like cooking supper on a camp out. (if you cook, that is). Plenty of space to set up a stove. There is a charcoal grill as well. See ya there!

If you know what you're bringing, post up here. I'm making chicken pot pie in my Dutch oven.

All good. Rain should be tapering off by 4ish and the pavilion is big enough to keep us all dry.

Tim, thanks to you and Cyndy for organizing the 2nd annual Central Chapter Dutch Oven cookout! It was great that even with a little drizzle at times, we still had a pavilion we could cook under. The DO fare and the other potluck items were very tasty and seemed to work out so that all food groups were represented.

Those who stayed away because of a little rain (or a ballgame!) missed out.

Some kind of object made specifically so you could lock a boat to. That is something that is super cheap that could be made. And it's also something you never see at put in or take out.  :box:
