What's Up on the Buffalo? Free event - Oct 18, Fayetteville

Join others interested in learning the latest updates on the struggle to remove a factory hog farm from a major tributary of the Buffalo River.
Where: St. Paul's St. Paul’s Parish Hall
224 N. East Ave. Fayetteville
When: Sat. Oct 18th 7pm-8:30
What: Five people actively involved in the struggle to protect the health and water quality of the river will speak
about various aspects, including legal and legislative issues, testing results and more!
Why you should care: Agricultural interests are pushing to remove the temporary ban on placing more CAFOs in the watershed. If they have their way, C&H could be joined by other mega-hog farms, leeching waste and pathogens and excess nutrients into a river that is supposed to be federally protected.
Special interests have the resources to buy influence, but voters can still stop greed in its tracks by speaking out and by voting out people who are willing to sell our shared resources out from under us. Visit http://www.BuffaloRiverAlliance.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for more information. 40 years ago, people fought to save the river that we have since enjoyed. Let's do our part to save it for future paddlers and the wildlife a clean river supports.
Area restaurants are providing refreshments. A big turnout will show Cargill that this issue is not going away!

I will be there with a table representing the ACC. If allowed I will be selling "save the Buffalo Again" Tee shirts and bumper stickers.
