As a paddling newcomer to Arkansas, the book you'll be looking for is "A Canoeing and Kayaking Guide to the Ozarks" by Tom Kennon. That will give you the low-down on the relative difficulty of paddling trips reasonably near Little Rock.
Of course, the Central Chapter of the ACC meets at the Oyster Bar on Markham on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except December and this month, when they are having a Dutch Oven Cookout!!) about 7:00 pm. You and other paddlers are always welcome to come and meet folks who may have the same skill level you have and an interest in paddling similar water!
Be sure to check the Trips forum on this Message Board and don't be shy about asking if you can go along:) Welcome!! Crane

Katie, I really enjoyed meeting you and look forward to seeing you on the river (and off). Be sure and make plans to attend the next chapter meeting which will be a Dutch Oven potluck. Great food, great fun and a good time to hook up with Central chapter members.
You come too.

Katie, if you're not a Dutch oven cook, feel free to bring your favorite dish or something to throw on a grill. This group is generally always hungry and not too picky. Welcome!k8+ie wrote:Thanks ya'll for the welcome. Super appreciate it and look forward to the dutch oven potluck.
