Raft

Post by Deuce » Sun Jul 27, 2014 3:52 pm

Fourteen foot Odyssey bucket boat. Old school hypalon raft with military valves (the real ones; metal). Floor leaks, tubes do not. Tubes are bomber. Awesome gear boat which was what I bought it for but also does fine as a paddle boat or row frame/passenger rig. I'm ready to upgrade but this one has to go first or I'll be in big trouble. Can come with any or all of the following: breakdown frame including oar towers and mounts, nine foot Carlisle Outfitter oars in like new condition, cargo net and NRS carry/storage bag. I'll sell all of the above for $1000 or possibly trade.

Also have some miscellaneous stuff I need to get rid of; three weight Orvis fly rod and reel, seven weight Redington rod with Orvis reel, Head Trip Daffy helmet, various coolers (not rotomolded) and other things I'm sure.

Hit me up here or call/text 5019518635 if you're interested.

BTDUBS, I was asked if I'd be willing to separate, and the answer is yes under the right circumstances.

I believe, for us older folks, a hyperlink needs to be provided directly to the Urban Dictionary for all of these acronyms.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=btdubs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm fearful that some of the even older folks don't even bother to google the terms but, flustered, goes back to watching Lawrence Welk.

Thank you Mr. Presley. The fact is I only know what it means because I have an eleven year old daughter.

Hey Deuce,
I know a guy looking for a poverty boat just like yours. He wants to modify it into a gigging raft to use this winter on the Whirley’s rock reach of the Current just above Doniphan. Mr. Rastus has salvaged some lumber from a defunct pallet mill just across the border near Maynard, AR. I think he plans on decking the entire raft with enough overhang to protect it from an errant gig point. He’s trying to figure out how to build a “drop transom” to mount his ’78 Merc 40. If it’s the motor I remember, it has a worn out pump with no reverse gate (got ripped off by a stump on the Eleven Point before HP restrictions went into effect). This motor has a distinct whine you can hear coming at least a mile away. It’s a tiller-steer and I have no idea how he plans to run the boat but I’m certain it’ll be creative and likely dangerous. Wanting to stick somewhat to tradition, he’s going to use pine-pitch pots for lights. He said something about rigging some old gym baskets to this end. Anyway, Mr. Rastus does like to barter and certainly has some interesting things scattered around his clear-cut ten acres. He hangs out with the boys over at Blazer Boats in Ellington, 573-663-3266. Five years ago I offered him my gently used Wooldridge Alaskan with 90 Honda pump and factory halo headlights. It was too new-fangled for him plus he preferred two-stroke exhaust fumes. I’m just trying to help a brother out.

Thanks for the tip, but you and I both know he'll back out once he discovers sucker tape won't adhere to hypalon.

I'd bestow a flag upon you but you don't have a poverty boat. I do know where you can find one, though.
