I have not done any part of the Cossatot before. I have a newer paddlers that want to go with me to do the lower Cossatot. This section is rated Class I-II which would be a safe paddle.
Would Gilliam Lake to County Road 70 (9 miles) at current levels be good for tomorrow??
Any feedback would be appreciated.

This is a very easy but nice float. (No comparison to the upper)I paddled it last year with some friends and had a good time there aren't many gravel bars but there is good scenery. Only hazard is a low water bridge that might need to be portaged depending on flow. A total guess but i believe it was about one mile in. Hope you have a nice time

Is there another section that might be good for this level paddlers. Since I have not been there do not want to lead them into roaring river rapids!

If your worried you might be taking a group beyond their skill level, just go run the Ouachita from Remmal Dam down to Rockport.

If class I-II not past skill level. Just asking about the river since I have not been down it myself. There may be another section that would be more fun & still in that range.
