Recommended Nose Clip/Plug
Recommended Nose Clip/Plug
I am working on my roll and after going out with the group I was out with this weekend I am thinking I need a nose clip/plug for my son and myself. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

Can't beat these. They are hand made and sold on ETSY. I purchased 3 pair last year and have had no problem with them. They were cheap, worked and shipping was fast. Hope it helps.

Cottonmouth and smileys are pretty good. If you have problems keeping them on make shure you wipe the oils off your nose and nose plugs.

Or make your own with a little coated clothesline wire and some tool dip. I make up a few dozen at a time (classes run through them) for pennies a piece. Cut a length of the coated wire (you'll have to experiment to find the length you like). Use needle nose pliers to make a small circle in each end. Put some cotton in the circled part (otherwise the tool dip tends to make an indention). Dip in the tool dip as much as needed to get the coating you want (let dry between dips). I think the plastic tool dip I get from local hardware is branded as Plasti Dip.
Down side is that once opened, this stuff has a limited shelf life before it gets too firm to use, so get a small batch or be ready to make lots of nose clips or otherwise use it up.

Here is my favorite clip.
These just do not wear out and they stay put.
NOC used to carry them as well.
I use a breakaway bit of fishing line to secure mine to a helmet strap, just be sure the line is breakaway and not any kind of hazard.

Re: Recommended Nose Clip/Plug
For what it's worth, I bought a pair of nose clips from Jeremy at OOO a year ago for 5 bucks. They are home made. Didn't ask by whom. They are the best pair of nose clips I've ever had. Basically they are coat hanger wire with a piece of closed cell foam glued to the ends. I've been through Smiley's and Cottonmouth brands and the home made ones are the best by far.

I second okieboater's choice. They stay on my sun-screened nose.
