Aloha. I am sure that you will love the islands. The big island is named correct. It is a big island. Never been to Maui but hear it is laid back and every thing closes early. Just make sure the sun screen is on due to being closer to the equator It is rough. Yes summer and spring is great and winter just more rain. So if you don't melt you might save a bit of money next time you go to go during the off season. Oahu island is where honolulu is. Lots of people Wakiki is great for people watching and the beach is great for the kids. Just watch out for the jelly fish if you go 10 days after the full moon. I am sure you will feel the healing of the land and water. Just don't be shocked by the price of everything. Have fun be safe and NEVER TURN YOUR BACK TO THE OCEAN. It has eaten tourist. just a friendly heads up. Hope to see you at the meeting Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I'm guessing NW area. I saw something about Ouachita state park tours.
Aloha hilbili yes you are correct I am located just outside of Fayetteville. I have not seen much but what I have seen it is quite beautiful here. I am sure it is three times as nice form the water. Looking forward to seeing it from that angel. I hope to meet you at the meeting for I will be there a bit late due to work. So aloha for now. be safe and have fun.

boofmaster wrote:I could be wrong, but everyone could be jumping to conclusions. The IP address checks out as being in Arkansas. The name tracks to someone who is about 50, has spent time in Hawaii, including a few photos with an outrigger canoe, and a husband named Neal.

Unless this is a really weird case of identity theft, then I'm going to say "Bobbie Jo, forgive us for seeming unfriendly at first, we really have had our share of spammers trying to register on our board. Welcome to Arkansas, and go check out the folks at a NW chapter meeting, you'll find we really are pretty friendly!" I would also add that while many of our club members are more into rivers than large bodies of water, I'm pretty sure Eric would have a sea kayak he could loan you and would love to have company on lake paddles, until you get a chance to figure out what kind of boat and what kind of paddling you want to do here in Arkansas.
Question how can I get in contact with Eric? Would love to get on the water this Sunday. Any help would be wonderful.

Never been to the west coast islands, but if you would like to go on Beaver Lake in a sea kayak, my wife Susan and I have 4 and my canoe partner Mary has 2, all with rudders and carbon fiber Lendal paddles. Give me a shout sometime and I will take you out, be thee beginner or advanced. My canoe partner is a nurse supervisor who works rotating days 3-11, so we go during the week Mon-Tues or Thurs-Fri, every other weekend or whenever she gets called off. Not hard to twist my arm. Have waterproof lights, so also go at night for full moons, meteor showers, or when it is hot. Meteor showers, of which there is one Friday night, are best in a canoe, of which I have 4. Live on Beaver Lake at Monte Ne on HW94SPUR. Have paddled from -15F to 109F here. In seas to 15' off Nantucket. If you want a work out, most I have done since the heart attack is 38 miles in a day @30F in 30MPH winds, but I did 88 miles in a day when I was younger and a guide. I think Mary and I know the prettiest spots on the lake, paddleing between 600 and 1000 miles a year for the last 7 years. Her dog Chloe (a Pappion) goes with us most of the time on the deck of my boat.

Wow Eric you go boy. You and your paddle partner sounds awesome. I was doing long distance which is 10 to 12 miles in the ocean. At sea level. I know I am out of shape and the air is going to give me some trouble at first. But a strong mind and will power will get one through a lot. Wow a meteor shower on the lake how great would that be. I know how to work a rudder for hawaiian outrigger have them also. Neal my hubby is going to kill himself tonight cause he has not paddled in 7 or 8 months and is going to practice tonight. Lucky guy. I also have a little dog that we took down the river when we paddled it. She has so much fun. I would love to join you two when ever I can. I do have a truck I can borrow to get to where I need to be. So please hit me up and just say when. I do work six days a week but I get off at 8pm so I don't know if that makes it so I can join you guys. But I am hoping. And then every sunday. So let me be forward and say Friday night or sunday if your time is open. I do thank you so much for the info and sure hope we can meet soon.
Much aloha to you Eric.

Hi,
I live in the Fayetteville area, like to swim, bike and paddle. I, too, have back problems from an old injury involving a horse and and bones breaking and fusing in ways they were not suppose to... Anyway, if you are interested in good yoga instructors. Welcome to NW Ark. There's lots and lots to do...maybe not like in Hawaii tho... just different.
