MEDIA DAY FOR WHITEWATER PARK - JUNE 3

Post by paddledog » Wed May 28, 2014 4:18 pm

I put the title in all caps because there has been a LOT of scheduling conflicts trying to get this done.

As of right now, the radio and TV personalities will be at the park on Tues June 3rd. 11 o'clock is the
official starting time. There will be stations from as far away as KC, Tulsa and LR. They will be there
to watch/film the participants as well as interview paddlers and "tubers". I know this is during the
work week but that is when the better known media personalities are available. The more paddlers
we have there the more we can lean the reputation of the park towards paddling and less toward tubers.

I apologize for the constant change in the schedule, but if you have ever had to deal with city guberments
you know why.
Post back here if you have any questions.
I will be at the park early (9ish)

Steve

I plan to be there. Work may dictate something different, but my boss is pretty cool about these sort of things.

To show the media the new River Park is great for beginner paddlers, I can demonstrate the Wet Exit, the Partial Exit Foot Hang, the Half Roll, the Upside Down Flop, the Paddle Chase, and another newbie move I call the 'Fell Over By A Boulder For No Apparent Reason'. Sounds like a great lunch break. :fish:

Since I'm retired, I can be there. I could show even old F**ts can do this sport too.

My boys and I will be there. They are 5 and 7 years old and ALWAYS wear lifejackets. Perhaps they can be a good influence on some of the local kids.

Had a great turnout for media day. It was looking kinda slim at first but more boaters slowly found their way to the ford.

Steve- I saw you on the news tonight. Way to represent! They finished the piece with Santa tearing it up in his open boat. I'm sorry I couldn't make it. -M-
