over night trip on the buffalo
I am wanting to take family on a overnight trip on the buffalo. We are wanting to camp on the side of the river. So i was wondering where a good spot to put in and take out would be? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I think you're saying you want to do a two day float and overnight on a gravel bar. Please confirm and mention what kind of water you're comfortable with and what you'd like to see and do along the way. Lots of good options.
You come too.

Yes, 2 day float and camp on gravel bar... We are fairly experienced paddlers.. I was thinking something in the middle of the river...we have floated the upper part several times. Thanks

Woolum to Tyler Bend or Gilbert is your huckleberry. Put in at Woolum spend night at Peter Cave Bluff and take out at Tyler Bend or Gilbert next day; depening on far you want to paddle on day 2. I'd go during the week if possible. Watch the weather and river levels.

What he said.^^^ And, alternatively if the middle isn't floatable when you're ready to go you can always do the lower. Not much excitement but great scenery, camping and fishing.
You come too.

Ok... What's a good spot on the lower? Shuttle services?
Re: over night trip on the buffalo
For the lower Aaron at Buffalo River Float Service is your man. Super guy with reasonable rates and will have your vehicle where you need it when you need it there. He'll also give you last minute tips if you want him to. One float I really enjoy on the lower that's overlooked is North Maumee to Rush. Most people who want to float camp the lower do Rush to the mouth (where the Buffalo and the White meet) and that's a great trip. It's a true wilderness experience, and if you don't think you'll get back to the Buff again for a while I'd suggest doing that. Really can't go wrong though whatever you do (unless you try to float camp where there's no water; that would get old quick ).casualfloater wrote:Ok... What's a good spot on the lower?
