Camping at Woolum

Post by R_Corter » Thu May 15, 2014 8:42 am

I want to take the family and camp at Woolum on Buffalo Memorial weekend. I know there's a lot of open space. Is there good shaded campsites close to river? I haven't been there in a while, may just take a drive this weekend and scout.

Turn in to the left before you reach the parking area and go down that road. There are a couple of spots with access to the river on that road that are used by horse riding groups. They are not exactly on the river but are shaded.

Might even find a spot down on the big gravel bar if you go upstream.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't make a scout trip. Figure it wouldn't do any good with holiday weekend. We will just wing it Friday afternoon when we get there!
