Spray Skirt for 2012 Jackson Rockstar Medium
I scored a 2012 Jackson Rockstar Medium. Has anybody experience with fitting a skirt that they're happy with?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've found skirtfit.com to be really accurate.

Thanks, Chris. I've been looking at their videos and links. Very helpful. The fellows at the store were measuring length and width only and arriving at a Large, but based on circumference, I'm wondering if I should get an XL since the Large Bomber skirt they tried on took basically three people to put on. I was wondering if somebody liked a particular brand or model and whether bungee or rand.

That might not be a bad idea.
I use bungee rand skirts on both my playboat and creekboat, but I am not as concerned as some may be about keeping every last drop of water out of my boat. I have an Immersion Research Kling-on that I use with my playboat (Pyranha Molan), and it is easy to put on and really dry. It has sort of a "taco"-like lip around the skirt that help keeps water from sitting on the barrier between bungee and plastic of the boat.
I have a Skirtworks SWII for my creekboat (Pyranha Burn) and It is relatively dry but not as dry as the kling-on, but more importantly to me it is super tough. The cockpit of the burn is really huge so the skirt size is XXL.
Both skirts are easy to put on, and that matters more to me than a few cups of water in the boat. Again, your mileage may vary on that. I'm still really new to Kayaking so the odds I swim and get the inside of the boat wet are always good.

Exactly the information I'm looking for. I need some ease and I won't be doing anything to worry about implosion. I'll check out the IR Kling-on. Thanks.

I also use the kling on for my playboat. The only place that i tend to get water coming in is down my back bone which is no fault of the skirt. I use the shockwave skirt on my creek boat and it does seem to be a little on the leaky side around the cockpit rim. The rubber rand skirts are tight when they are new, the trick is to keep them on the boat for a few weeks when you first get one. This will allow the rubber to stretch and it will become very easy to get on and off.

Thanks, Adam. This may be where I try the rand skirt. My shockwave I have for my other boat does tend to let a little in around the rim.
