Cadron Creek Outfitters
Cadron Creek Outfitters
Looking at hitting Cadron Creek for the first time and saw that Cadron Creek Outfitters website had shuttle options. I have called a few times and gotten no answer and voicemail of someone else. Anyone know if this place is still in business?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Cadron Creek Outfitters
I was under the impression that Cadron Creek Outfitters shut down several years ago. I'm amazed that their website is still up.

Yeah website still up and going. I did a lil more reading around and looks like its no longer open.
Now i have gotten lost in where access is available or not to launch or park. Below is direct from Arkansas website. Any idea if this information is current and correct and if parking is available at each of these spots.
Points of access include: the Ark.124 crossing; the county bridge northeast of Guy; Ark. 310 going west from Guy; the U.S. 65 bridge; and the Ark. 285 crossing.
Thanks. Looking forward to hitting my first water in Arkansas..

This float's pretty popular. The access info about hwy310 and bridge looks correct. Take-out is hwy 65 access.

When are you planning on going? I was mulling over the idea of making a quick run tomorrow if things align and i find a shuttle.

Thanks Ouachitoff.
Do you know if there is parking available at those spots or is either strictly drop off/pick up points

Plenty of parking at Hwy 65 bridge access point. At the put-in, the river right side of the bridge has a small shoulder you can park on. It's a great float, especially around 4 ft.

Re: Cadron Creek Outfitters
Last Sunday a group of us put in Pinnacle Springs Road, which is also called Hwy 310. We talked to another group that told us they had put in at Cadron Creek Outfitters. They said the same thing as Gannon - Cadron Creek Outfitters is open on weekends.
If CCO is open, that is a much easier put-in and gives you several nice additional rapids. If they are closed, then Pinnacle Springs Bridge is a good back-up. It's not a public access, but I know the landowners don't mind respectful day guests. By respectful guests, I mean things like 1) This is an unimproved access; you assume all risks if you choose to use it, and 2) You should pick up at least a couple of pieces of litter on the property and along the road near where you park each time you use this access.

Re: Cadron Creek Outfitters
Happy paddling days are here again on the Cadron. CCO is indeed open on weekends starting Friday afternoons and they have really made improvements to the place and Lisa was very helpful. Well worth the price of admission.

Re: Cadron Creek Outfitters
One item of note, if you are going to put in at the Outfitters, be prepared to navigate a very steeply-graded gravel hill to get down from the Outfitters to the creek. It is well worth the 5 dollar per car fee, it adds a nice mile or so to the paddle and as said above, several extra rapids to play in.
