Fisher's Ford Road Siloam Access - Comment

Post by Charles1967 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 10:49 am

Took me a few days to decide how to say this. Didn't want to put it on the Facebook site. This last Saturday 3/15/2014 - there were a few (3) kayakers from Fay/Bent area on Siloam side. Not going to give any description, or details beyond that. They climbed on "equipment" most likely for photo ops. No harm done I realize, but my fear is that if a county contractor or city worker sees 3 kayakers dangling 20+ feet off of equipment or even touching equipment, they will shut that road down until the park is 100% complete. I don't want the Siloam side road shut down. I like a good time and a challenge, but tell your friends to stick :NoNo: to the trees and consider the consequences for the 'many'. Thanks. Chaz. :kayak:

Hope they are not stupid enough to post them on social media. But hey, even the paddling community has its share of nitwits.

Hope not. But if one of those 'nitwits' falls off a crane and gets my road shut down, I will be pissed! :myday"

I'm sure this isn't the first, or last, construction site that has had equipment climbed on, started, or even driven around when the crew wasn't working.

All access should be from the south side.
I realize this is farther for folks from the North,
but that is a small price for what we are getting for free.
Anyone parking on the north side is subject to suspicion from authorities.
There have been several robberies of the job site and
the authorities are on the look out for anyone on the site.
These are really easy rules to follow.

A central arkansas native recently had the opportunity to join some of his frat brothers for one of the hogs home games. Afterward, they went OFFROADING and came upon a construction site. Several were operators and one key fits all, so they had a little rodeo. In the early a.m. there came a knock on the door. You guessed it. POPO. and video.

They let them all go though. The contractors got such a kick out of seeing what had occurred, that they just wanted to scare them. Be warned.

Not the point, Brian. Be respectful. Regardless of where you are.

Previous stupid behavior does not condone current stupid behavior. You know that.

Not to support the actions of the alleged hooligans... Have these "rules" been posted anywhere except this board/meetings/etc?

Clearly climbing on construction equipment and screwing around is dumb, regardless, but I wouldn't bank on every boater under the sun to know what side of the bridge they're supposed to park on just because people associated with the club know the deal...

Very well put ARzach, I've seen several boaters over the years that have never heard of the ACC or this board!
