Tuesday Lower Richland

Post by Inverted » Sun Mar 16, 2014 8:17 pm

Anyone that would like to join, I'm strongly considering a run on the lower Richland on Tuesday. Hoping for a level somewhere in the mid 3's. Mike Fagan

reconfiguring the graph for the gauge into 12 hr intervals, making yesterday d-1 and adding tomorrow, makes projections easier. it could stay well above the 3' mark till noonish. I would like to see a comparison between mulberry above hwy 23 @ 2.6 (2.8 is low end of opt) and lower richland @3.5.

Mike I think we are in, Im waiting to hear from Jeff (Hilbili) about driving up together. I've never done this section before and am unfamiliar with the shuttle. I hear it's a long one. I also was told that the level should be 3.4. BOB

I agree that 3.4 is a good level for this run. It should be about that tomorrow. The lower section tends to hold up a little longer because you have Falling Water and some other nice tributaries entering. Tomorrow should be 70+ degrees and sunny, and I'm so ready for spring I'll carry my kayak down the river on my back just to get outside, so hope to see and meet you tomorrow!

Have not heard from Jeff but I'll be there either way. Clay sorry you couldn't make it I always enjoy boating together. Jeff I'll be at the Cranford's super market on Highway 7 ( just outside the Hot Springs Village gates) at 7;45 am. Hope to see you there. BOB

trip report

Post by hilbili » Wed Mar 19, 2014 12:07 am

You see me now a veteran, , of 1000 psychic wars, and 5 out of 6 swims today @ 3.5' !!! Not too cold, but I feel a little uneasy about how little it affected my mental state(the swims, not the cold). I know how serious things were, and was lucky to have 4 class 10 boaters bringing me along. Thanks again to Bob, Mike, Rick, and Tami.
