Mike- So sorry to hear about Jamie. Remember that at "our age" everything takes longer, from getting dressed in the morning to recuperating from an illness so don't panic. Take care of yourself now so you will be "fresh" for her when she needs you. we will be thinking of you. ann davis

Having been in pretty serious physical shape over in Flagstaff Arizona in september 2012, the word got out to this group and I could feel the power of prayer and thought in the hospital.

Now it is my turn to get on my knees along with a lot of your friends.

It's been a week now since this happened...I got this from Mike last night (Sunday)...
Still unconscious; getting a new ventilator tube location Monday, directly into the trachea, to avoid damage to the vocal chords where the present tube is rubbing; they may start weaning her off the ventilator this week; still no way to tell when she will wake up.

Tuesday morning - ventilator shut off for a trial breathing run; after a half hour of good breathing, the ventilator was removed. Jamie is breathing through a trachea tube on her own. Still unconscious. I won't be at the hospital Wednesday afternoon so I can let a heat/air service man in the house.

I'd love to see some photos of you guys and gals paddling, so if you catch some rain send me a shot. I'll put my email address on my profile in a minute.

Hi Mike,

So glad to hear that Jamie is breathing on her own! That's progress. Hopefully, her level of consciousness will improve soon, I know that has to be very difficult to not be able to communicate with her. Hang in there!! Many positive thoughts coming your way on a daily basis.
