Time For the Next One
Time For the Next One
February 15th through the 17th (President's Day weekend for those keeping score) will find a crew of us on the Current again. This time we'll float from Two Rivers to Waymeyer. I've never floated this reach, so the only things I know about it are what I've heard and read. It's supposed to be wider and flatter by comparison so we'll be praying for calm winds. In February? Ummmmm, yeah. The john boat hatch is reputed to be more prolific than on higher reaches but not too bad as they are most prevalent below Van Buren. I always see one or two on the river and have never had problems with any of them. Anywho, different reach, same plan.
Central crew will depart around 5:00 Saturday morning in order to meet up with everyone else and set shuttle around 9:30. At present four have committed and a couple of others are waiting to see what the weather has in store. We have at least two chapters represented (Central and NW) so there will be carpool opportunities. Details will be posted as they emerge, and as always THIS IS A KID FRIENDLY TRIP. Hope to see you there!

Weather is looking pretty good for a leisurely float down the middle Current. The trip is on as scheduled and our number is six. If you want to join us post up here, PM or email me or just show up at Waymeyer or Two Rivers by 9:30 Saturday morning.

This river is on my list for 2014. I was hoping to join your group this weekend but work will keep me from joining.
Weather looks like it will cooperate, and the full moon is there. Have a great time. John

Stupid work. Thanks for the kind words Fletch. We'll raise a glass to you on the gravel bar tomorrow night.Waterman wrote:This river is on my list for 2014. I was hoping to join your group this weekend but work will keep me from joining.

You'll catch our next trip John. Unlike Luke, I'll raise a plastic cup to you tomorrow night.

No you won't, you Philistine. We take our spirits in double walled stainless coffee mugs, the glass of the gravel bar camp.Jetlab67 wrote:You'll catch our next trip John. Unlike Luke, I'll raise a plastic cup to you tomorrow night.
