Re: Fishing in 2014
Hilbili,
I use a breakdown (2-peice) rod all the time when kayak fishing. I have also used the really short (2' to 3') versions too. Berkley Cherrywood is my current breakdown rod. Really like this rod. Note: I discovered, the hard way, that, under certain conditions, 8 # Spiderwire is stronger than a Berkley Cherrywood rod.

Re: Fishing in 2014
Wow! I glad to see so many responses to going fishing. I like the idea of a Group Heading just for fishing. I went for an experimental fishing trip last Saturday in all the snow and ice. I discovered that I need warmer shoes, my feet froze and I wasn't out but for a little while. I'm ready for spring. Thanks

I have.I think twice over the years. A friend of mine in hollis fishes it a couple times a year. not a real hotspot, and a 6 or 7/10 ruffness on getting to the put in.

Re: Fishing in 2014
Edgar,
I didn't even know Little Bear L. existed until I decided to climb Forked Mountain some years ago and could see it in the distance. It's been some time ago that I drove in there for a look, seemed like the forest service road in to the dam wasn't too bad, but the put-in road down one end of the dam to the water looked steeper than I wanted to fool with that day. Later on, I tried navigating even lesser forest roads to try and come in on the S.E. end but only got so far before I came to a place where they had closed that road with a dirt pile.
We did go one time to Dry Fork Lake with kayaks and fishing gear. I like the looks of that lake very much, but it was windy that day and made kayak fishing more of a challenge on that occasion.
Best Regards
Jim

plainview, hwy 28 west, about a mile from the edge of town on left is sunlight bay/river road, duck pond area. stay staight at sunlight bay rd. cross a small bridge and continue a short distance to fourche laFave. there is a coe launch close to the iron bridge. hogan is just downstream river right. the iron bridge road cuts alongside the creek also if water is up and connects to liitle brushy creek rd on hwy7 a few miles south of fourche jct.

also look at old Ola lake-small & lota crappie. it is old petit jean river channel north of town before you cross twin bridges, lake ola dale - the town reservoir - also has crappie and bass. it has alot of shoreline for its' size.
