Looks like the pool there could be a great resource for the Ark-LA-Tex chapter. Hope that everything works out with that renovation!

If the pool is usable, they might want to consider using solar heat to warm the water. I helped with a 95,000 gallon pool in North Carolina that used 1600 feet of 2" black irrigation pipe laid in coils on the flat roof of their changing rooms and pump/filter/chemical storage areas to warm the pool as much as 3 degrees F per day starting in February and within a month we had 85F water when all the other outdoor pools were in the 40's. Every lifeguard class with 100 miles wanted to use our pool and no one wanted to get out of the water when the air temperature was in the 40's. In the summer, we could run it at night to radiate heat out of the pool to keep it below the commercial limit of 85F. There is a little extra electrical load on the pumps to get it up to the roof, but way less than the energy to heat or cool the water. Pumps generally have to run 24/7anyway to turn the volume of the pool through the filters 4 times per day and almost all pumps for a commercial pool of this size would have no problem getting the water up to the roof. Something to consider for any large pool. With the addition of a couple of valves, the system can be drained easily to keep from freezing should the pumps have to be turned off or if the solar gain is not there to warrant running through the pipes.
