Happy New Year at Fishers Ford!

Post by magicmike » Mon Dec 30, 2013 11:10 am

Eat your black - eyed peas, then come on out for a lucky New Year surf. With highs in the 50s, it should be a great afternoon. As long as we stick to the river, we're cool. Saturday the Police Department was out there talking to trespassers.-M-

You can attain on river left using small eddies to get out of there.. we had 8 kayakers attaining in small freestyle boats. It's a good way to warm your body up for the gear change at the end too! :kayak:

Opes- The waves haven't been touched in a few weeks, as the guys have been working on the park and not in the river. The bottom wave is still trashy, but there's a lot of fun to be had on the top wave. While they've been out of town they have a channel open onto the original feature, which is shallow but surfable. Steve has said the final tuning and clean - up of the new features will be the last thing done, probably after the park is done, hopefully sometime in January. -M-

Sorry, just got in on this thread.
Mike is right on with the info.
STAY OFF THE RIVER BANKS,, Both right and left.
With the wave generating dams creating a pool up river
on the creek, it should
be even more possible to paddle back up river to the bridge
to take out....
Be courteous and cordial to everyone out there as we are
representing the ACC.

PS. My wrist is 80%. I will be there right after the new year
to perfect my swimming/rolling......
Thanks
Steve
