Anyone paddling Sunday? Tammy and I are looking to paddle something...thinking about Dragover, since we've never done it.

Re: Sunday paddling?
Chicago Bob, me, and at least one other are meeting at 10 AM at the AGFC access in Glenwood, AR tomorrow (12-29-13), looking to run the Caddo from Caddo Gap down to Glenwood.
Weather shows it hitting a very decent 50 plus degrees, but then dropping rapidly near the end of the day. So our plan is to move down the river at a decent pace for the first 2/3 of the trip, then slow down some to gather a few items we missed on the last trip. This should get us close to the take out in case the weather moves in faster than expected.
All are welcome to join, and I promise not to load a water heater into anybody's boat (unless they really, really want me to).
Go to maps.google.com and type in N34.32035 W93.54175 to see a map of where we are meeting.
Anyone running more than a few minutes late should just go to the put-in at N34.3862 W93.6081

Thanks for the post Cowper but I;ve got tons of stuff to do tomorrow. Have lots of fun and if you do anymore swamp trips before New years, let me know. I plan to be there this year.

TRIP REPORT:
Bob, cbarry, and I made the trip from Caddo Gap to the AGFC access in Glenwood. Water level was about 6.5 feet, which is near minimum for this section. Weather was sunny for awhile, and warm until about the time we were taking off (hitting into the low 50's).
Since we had two canoes, we only collected two canoe loads of trash this time, but we concentrated on the last three miles of this ~9.0 mile run since that is what we missed last time around. There are still a few larger items remaining for a future expedition, and at least one or two "drifts" that could probably yield a couple of bags of trash each, but overall this section is now in far better shape than it was two weeks ago. There's also one place where the road gets close to the river and too many folks have been both dumping and just throwing trash out the window, so it is highly visible on the hillside above the high water mark. Somebody local is going to have to take an interest in that part of the project; I'm going to focus on the river channel up to the high water mark.
Bottom line, just another great day to be out on the river. The photos show our haul; Bob once again practiced his "awkward load" paddling with a 25' section of PVC hose; I once again found a toilet that needed to be in a landfill instead of on a river bank. The bow section of the old fiberglass canoe is going home with cbarry to be re-purposed into something else. We considered bringing the "big wheel" with pedals home to Crash for use as a no-seat unicycle, but suspected the parental units would not approve of this gift.

Thank you. We just got rid of one broken unicycle last week. We do not need more projects.
