Perhaps I am being overly optimistic...
Today while paddling the cossatot falls my boat and i became temporarily separated. Somewhere between the washing machine and the bottom of the falls my sony action cam became detached from my boat (yes it was tethered but the plastic attaching the tether to the case was destroyed).
If anyone should find the camera washed up somewhere then please help me to be reunited with it. Then I will be able to share the momentous footage demonstrating the incorrect way to run BMF into the washing machine.

When are they gonna make an action cam that floats?
is it really that hard.
Good luck with the reunion.....

Chuck Bewley's GoPro spent 4 years slowly running 1/2 mile of Richland and survived, so there's hope for your Sony if it has a waterproof case. In the summer the Falls are low and can be easily snorkeled, but I doubt anyone will see it until then, unless Cowper engineers some magnetic recovery system.

Doug, do you have a guess as to where (which fall) your camera separated from your boat? Was anyone recording the action?

I was right behind him when he and his boat became separated then I chased it to the bottom. They separated about 2 ft before they disappeared over the top into the machine. The boat took some terrible lines through the next two and I followed thinking I'd be able to save it before the next drop. I'd guess the camera came off in the machine or the last drop. At 4.5 whiplash is prob deep enough that it didn't hit anything (I went down half of it upside down a few weeks ago at the same level and didn't hit anything). On the last drop it went left around the larger rock formation just upstream of the drop then went through the chutes in the rocks on river left.
