Quick video of West Fork Falls
Quick video of West Fork Falls
This is at the uppermost putin for the west fork in Winslow right by the baseball fields.
It usually takes a lot of rain for these to run but Noquarter and I have ran them when the water was about 0" to 6" airspace under that bridge in the photo.
At this high of a level the 2 ledges above the falls can create nasty holes that can throw your line off when going over the falls.

Re: Quick video of West Fork Falls
When I first started kayaking, that falls, at high water, ate my lunch. I have some old video footage with my wife filming saying on camera how stupid we was trying to retrieve my boat from under the ledge.
Re: Quick video of West Fork Falls
It really looks like it could be a dangerious spot. I was a little uneasy about running it in a playboat the first time I saw it.

This might be some of the only published footage of the "Slicker Falls" .
The link appears to no longer work though. Kyle did you get a video of the trip down at 12ft? I'd like to watch that if you did. Maybe the link is just not working now, but if its a real booboo on YouTube's part I hope you can get it back up there so that it can be shown to others who would be fascinated by watching.

DId you set it to music? I've heard youtube will pull them down if they feel there was a copyright infringement or get a complaint about that.
Trash: Get a little every time you go!
Re: Quick video of West Fork Falls
I just saw this post today. Let me go and check what's wrong with the footage.
EDIT: I don't know where the footage went. It looks like it's just a legend only stuck in Jon's and my memories
Also no music was used, I had another youtube account back then and can't access it. They probably took it down due to inactivity within that account would be my best guess.
If we get the chance to run it again I will do another video. All I can say is at high water this run can have some larger than expected whitewater! Very quality run!

Well, It looks like we will need to get some more footage! I've always enjoyed this run, but never caught it above 8 ft.
