Cadron Float

Post by Ray » Sat Oct 05, 2013 3:47 pm

Wanting to hit the Cadron next week, any guidance on preferred section and current river level would be very much appreciated. I have looked at the links to current river levels posted on this site but I'm unaware of what the optimum level would be. I'm wanting to keep it somewhat short because my 77 year old Dad will be with me. So I will either do 124 to 280 or 310 to 65, so information on these two sections would be appreciated as well. Thank you, Ray

I will most likely be floating on Tuesday the 15th. I am wondering if it is at a floatable level, or what the best level actually is?

Rain could change everything next week, but right now Cadron is WAY too low to float anywhere near or above Hwy 65 bridge. You would be paddling the pools and dragging every shoal. Some of them will be long drags.

I see you are from MS; if we don't get more rain, consider checking out parts of the Bayou DeView water trail. It is closer to you and yesterday's rain hit that area, so it might still be good on the 15th (but check back to be sure). It is a different type of water experience, but well worth doing.

Would be interested in that but don't know too much about Bayou Deview. Where is it located?
