:yahoo: This is so exciting!! :yahoo:
I'm glad that many of you will be there for the first time. It's our favorite summer play spot.
We have done some serious learning at the ford! most of the time, between 2.75 and 2.15'

I'm with Dan. It's never TOO low!

or your biggest boat, I've had my 17' tandem surfing when it was real low (like last summer).

So, play or no play (on the wave) is totally dependent upon rain?? The statement "states only 365 wave" has confused me. I'll be in that part of the world over the weekend and will take a boat IF there will be water. Please Advise.
If it is in the best interest of the project, I will hold off on the rain dance
There are about 4 or 5 MAJOR WWTP's that discharge about 6 million gallons a day each into the Illinois River upstream of Fishers Ford. So about 30,000,000 mGD is being pumped into the river from Beaver Lake through toilet, bath, sink, and industry water after it has been "treated". Combine the daily interbasin water transfer with the porous karst topography and you get a wave you can surf 365 days a year.

Pretty neat, really.

Paddle Dog - not a hard feeling. The Lee Creek Cleanup is earlier in the day and folks can easily come participate in the Lee Creek Cleanup around/ between 9am-1pm, get a free lunch and a doorprize, and then go paddle at Fishers Ford if they want.

Although, headed to the Ford might be easier/shorter to get to from 540 since it is so much closer to hwy 59 (minus a few slightly confusing short cuts on random dirt and county roads).

When is the Fisher's Ford project scheduled to be completed? I've looked around online and can't find that info.

A young lady from the Ukraine and possibly a friend would like to attend the party. I checked with Paddledog and he said there would be several people there willing to loan a boat and provide instruction. She lives in Fayetteville and may need a ride. Will any of you be going from Fayetteville?

Paddle dog, please run those google directions from Devils Den state park. A majority of club/boater folk migrate up to the park for free lunch and door prizes around noon or so. Leaving from the park is a different set of directions. The shorted route might just be the one with more pavement and obvious road signs.

Thanks man!

Big fun at The Ford! Thanks so much Steve for making a great event happen. Thanks Roy for the awesome beans. Thanks to the grill master whose name I've forgotten. Thanks everyone who made it out to say goodbye to Fishers Ford as we know it. Sorry all for my wave hoggage -M-
