Friends,
The silent auction at Rendezvous is coming up quickly! We've had members donating their time to track down donations, but now I want to ask each of you..........do you have something you would like to donate or someone you could ask to donate? Anything would be appreciated! We've had our gracious members donate their time(through instruction) and their art!! If you are interested in donating please contact myself or Maggie Powell! Remember this is the only fundraiser of the year for the conservation fund!!!

make sure you give love to Mrs Libby and Janna at Buffalo River Log Cabins! They've donated a two night stay at Bear Creek Log Cabins! They are on the middle section of the Buffalo just five minutes from Tyler Bend!

I've got some smaller things -- some women's board shorts (new with tags on) and a gym bag, and even a non-paddler related item or two. Do you need it ahead of time? Otherwise I can bring the things Friday night when I come to camp.

I will be donating an older model Jackson Hero kayak. Please let us know soon if you have items in good condition that you can donate to the auction. The silent auction always spices up Rendezvous on Saturday night and the funds go to conservation work. Help us out if you can.

Re: Donations Needed for Conservation Fund Silent Auction
Hey all,
I just thought I would chime in our need for donations for the silent auction and some ideas that might help.
I have obtained a few items, including a sponsorship from the LR Zoo. Honestly, on a scale of 1 to 10 of things that are easy and fun for me, this sort of thing gets a NEGATIVE number but I am doing it anyway because I know its good for the club and its also a challenge for me.
And, yes I have donated a few items that have not been used.
Here are some points while making your case for a donation or sponsorship:
1. Nature conservation for our state. Current projects...Buffalo River and the pig farm, Debbie is constantly working in improving current trails and getting new ones designated. Cowper makes sure Trash pick-up is a regular activity on most of our trips, although I'm sure most of us would do it anyway. You can mention how we work to make sure river have public access points so that all Arkansans can enjoy our lakes and rivers.
2. Paddling instruction for members and updates for our formal instructors. Whitewater school/ Recreational school
3. We are also a social club...a strange one :) but one none the less. Chapter meetings and other events we put on throughout the year.
I know these are obvious points but one thing I have found is try to find a common thread as to why they might want to donate such as a pet store because a lot of us that have dogs that we take to the river or a massage that really someone can enjoy anytime but is especially nice after a long paddle. Or it could be a place you frequent and they know you so they might be inclined to donate.
Anyway, I hope these suggestions might give some of you ideas as to places or people you might ask to help us out.
Thanks and see you at Rendezvous!
