Hi all,
I've got a woodstrip canoe. The wood hull is in good shape. No major gouges or anything. No leaks.
However, one of the seats broke off where it was mounted to the hull - the seat itself is fine the mount needs to be repaired. The seats are walnut with rope netting. The handles are also wood on the front and rear and they need to be redone - and probably some of the trim around the top could be redone.
It all looks fairly easy to redo - but I'm no expert, either.
It's a custom canoe - I don't recall the makers name but he's in NE arkansas, if I recall correctly. (Mountain Home, I think)
This was my Father's canoe - he passed away on Easter and my Mother is looking to clear some things out.
So, I'm no expert on this thing - I've got no idea what it's worth. Anyone have any guesses what I should be looking to get out of it?
I'll try to update this with a picture tonight - thought I had one when I started the post.. ugh.
Wood strip canoe - needs some TLC

I've always wanted build a strip canoe, but never got around to it. I have no idea what they are worth but I would be interested if you come up with a price.

If it's not picked up, I'd love to rehab it for a friendly fellow swamp paddler!
I'll bring cash & haul it home.
