LITTLE MISSOURI ALBERT PIKE TO HWY. 84 SATURDAY 7/27/13

Post by CAPTAIN ALEVE » Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:10 pm

If the rain hits the Little Mo watershed late Friday and early Saturday, I'd like to make a run from Albert Pike down to Highway 84 on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Make plans just in case the rain does fall; post if you are interested.

Mike
You think it would be at a level where I could handle the big stuff?
I'll think about going if its not too big. (Cl. 3)

Upper Ouachita could be going as well since it got 3 inches on Wednesday night.

That's around 6' or little less. Solid class III at that level.

Everything depends on the water level. I'm willing to go at lower levels than most folks; a low level will be okay for you, Steve.

Below 4.5, it's class I-II for the most part of it. With the named rapids class II+,I'd say pretty linear increase above that. The waves and holes get bigger, current stronger, eventually earning a class IV rating at higher levels.

I'm with you there Mike, if you can get down it without dragging its worth it. Beautiful stretch of water.

Mike
If it stays below 4.5 on the gauge, I'm in.
Can you swing by and get me or can I meet you somewhere?

There is a chance the water will be there. I'll get up about 6:00 a.m. and check the gage. I can get you, Steve, if everything works out for water and additional paddlers. I'm through posting for tonight.
