Central Chapter's annual burger and hot dog feed. We supply the meat(s) and buns, you supply the rest. We'll have 'em ready to eat at 11am so you can get your tummy full before heading up to Remmel to ride the release down. Porterfield gate will be open 9:30, locked back at 5pm.
See ya there!

Tim,
Marlo and I will make plans to attend. I would like to volunteer to haul off any bags of trash from the day accumulated thus far at the time we leave in the later afternoon. I will bring a fan for the cooking area.. and also bring a couple of folding tables for serving needs. Most of all, I have a newer, larger, utility trailer I'll bring to assist with transporting boats and equipment up to the put-in if it should be needed.
Best Regards
Jim

Clan Crawford (+ possibly some friends) will be there. We will bring at least 1 dessert dish for your dining pleasure. Hats off to Tim and the Central Chapter for keeping this going so long. Always a good time with good food and good friends.

Floatingbear: We appreciate that. Sorry you won't be able to make it. You're going to miss the best burned...I mean grilled burgers and dogs you'll get for free that weekend near Malvern cooked by a certified swiftwater rescue instructor or two.

Google it and get back with me. Wikipedia confirms. Fox news is aggin it. Do you gave a random number generator? I do. The two digit model.
5 and 2 both prime numbers. Add up to 7 also prime. I have7 digits on my left lower appendage. 52 backwards is 25 a perfect square.
Need more proof? Shredder has 7 letters minus two owners equals 5 plus two is 52. Any more questions?
By the way enjoyed shredding the Tot with your partner. B

Pretzel logic? Confused calculus? Erraticus abbicus? 52nd and sticking to it.
Re: 52nd annual SurfnTurf, July 27, Rockport/Porterfields
We will be there & bringing the mother and her kayak. Ellie, Calvin & BJ -
What is the best to bring - a side or desert?
We have never been & have no idea where to go.
I think the 52nd annual sounds MUCH more respectable that 7th annual. We need ALL the respect we can get!
I have a trailer we can bring if transport will be needed. It can haul 4 & we can carry 3 in the back of the truck. Let me know if I should bring it.

Ellie,
I'll try and answer your questions, but Tim will probably chime in later.
First off, if you all have never been here, you'll be in for a treat! The S&T is always a nice time of visiting and good food, and you'll really enjoy the cool water and scenery!
Coming down I-30 from Little Rock, you'll go on past exit 98, which is the main Malvern exit, just after you cross the Ouachita River on the Interstate you'll take exit 97, when you come to the end of the ramp turn right, go a few hundred yards to the stop sign, then turn right on Hwy 171 (toward Lake Catherine State Park) you'll pass Mayflower RV on the right, then in about a quarter mile you'll see a chain link fence on the right with white rock stacked up. Just turn right through the open gate and follow the little road down to Porterfields. There will be an ACC banner where you turn off the highway so you shouldn't have any problems.
If you would care to bring anything, I am sure either a side or desert is great.
Over the years, I have been bringing a rather large flat-bed utility trailer to help shuttle folks up to the dam for the river trip. However, I have recently come to the decision not to do so this year. In the last couple of years or so, the popularity of this section of the river with everyone in the community has meant the gravel bar at the put-in has become busy enough that it's a bit more difficult to maneuver the trailer. For myself, I'm just going to bring my truck and shuttle to the extent I can with it.
Best Regards
Jim

Side, dessert, what ever the gods tell you to bring. We have a good time. There will be burgers and dogs ready at 11 if you want to get an early start, we will cook until it is all gone. There will be folks around all day. Shuttle arrangements are totally informal and often impromptu.
You can drop your dish off and go paddle and I will personally keep an eye on it for you if you want to eat when you get done paddling.
SurfnTurf is the original version of the member appreciation cookout sponsored by the members. Grill is donated by First Security Bank of Benton.

Sounds great... we are ready to paddle. The mom has not been in the water this year due to some health issues. She is geared up & ready to go.
We will try to get there about 11:00 & help anyway we can... don't know if we will paddle then eat or eat first... hard decision.
Are adult beverages ok to bring for after the paddle??
