Baker Ford to Gilbert Saturday

Post by Deuce » Tue Jun 18, 2013 12:13 pm

Probably leave central Arkansas around 7:00 Saturday morning. May or may not have room for another boat depending on whether my buddy brings a buddy, but will definitely have room for paddlers. We will be fishing and swimming and goofing off. All are welcome (except those who object to fishing, swimming and goofing off).
You come too.

Luke-do you have room for a few "old ladies" to join you if we can find Baker's Ford?

Well, I don't know. Are you plenty ornery? 'Cause I like my "old ladies" ornery! :poke2: We'd love for you to join us!

Not too ornery but plenty old. A few of my friends(60 plus Yrs.) want to float the Buffy but don't want to go by themselves on a river they don't know. That stretch should be easy for them.

Sounds great Ms. Ann, and Paul, I'm glad you've decided to go with us. I'll look forward to seeing a bunch of new faces on this trip! Right now all roads lead through or from Little Rock, so unless someone objects we'll plan on meeting there at a convenient time and place TBD. Provided we can consolidate boats and paddlers into all but one vehicle we'll set shuttle at Gilbert first then head on to Baker, otherwise we'll just have to do the shuttle shuffle. Paul, I'm still waiting on word as to whether I'll have one or two canoes on my truck. If I'm only toting one I'll have room for you and your boat unless you prefer to drive. I'll advise accordingly as soon as I know.
You come too.

Okay peeps, our fleet is growing exponentially and will include all manner of paddlecraft, so I've decided to tow a trailer. Let's meet at 7:45 at the Exxon on the left side of highway 65 in Conway. It's right next to a McDonald's and is shortly after you exit. Look for a blue Expedition with boats on it towing a black trailer that looks like it was designed and manufactured by Sanford and Son Trailers, Inc. We'll caravan to Gilbert and set shuttle then head to the put in. My digits are five01nine51eightsix3five.

As per our discussion, I'd like to reserve a spot on the trailer. My mom and I will be in her Mercury, and will might have room for an extra rider or two. Give me a shout at 5ive oh one threeoh8 fifty-four nine5

Yes John, sorry I didn't specify. I do have a spot reserved for your boat. You can bring it to my house Friday night or Saturday morning at 7:00, whichever is more convenient. I'll text you my address.
You come too.

are you bringing your kiddos on this trip? We was on the river from Carver to Woolum on the 6th=9th and my son was catching fish like crazy. mostly thru fast water and riffles....The river has dropped two feet since then so I don't know how the fishing will be, but the swimming will be great!!!!

My daughter's having a slumber party so she won't be going, but kids are certainly welcome.
