Lake Ouachita remains about two and a half feet up into the flood pool but is dropping about six inches per day. The Corps is currently releasing about 11,000 CFS from Blakely Mountain Dam . This flow is being matched by the downstream Carpenter and Remmel Dams. This will continue until the lake is down below the flood pool. This could take another week, but we are expecting up to 2 inches of additional rainfall this week and this could slow the rate at which the lake drops extending the time. Once out of the flood pool flow releases will be about 3,600 CFS from 10 AM to 10 PM.

This is from Entergy's Hydro Operations site.

Although Jim Kruger posted on Rec and Touring that the flow might be back to normal.

Are you watching the river info link on the home page from USGS? It shows flow today at 5800.

My wife and I were wanting to float somewhere tomorrow but not familiar with part of Arkansas. We would like to meet up with someone or a group floating Remmel to Rockport for the first trip. We have a SOT (Mine and new) and a SI (Wifes) kayak. We are experienced paddlers and have done from Class I to Class IV. Aging a bit and after a couple of surgeries we do not do much whitewater anymore. We are self supplied with everything I believe needed for a float of this caliber. At one time we were certified paddling instructors through the ACA but have let those certs drop.

If anyone is going and would not mind a couple coming along I will check back every now and again on this site to see what may happen. We live in Greenwood by Fort Smith and would need directions or GPS locations to the put in. Also if you have driven from Fort Smith and know about the length of the drive a time I wold need to make it would also be appreciated.
