I need a good paddlin'
I need a good paddlin'
I mean paddle. I need a good paddle. Had an AB Edge and it was okay, but I've found I prefer a flat blade. The Edge is gone and I'm now using an old Werner that was my spare. It looks a whole lot like a Nantahala, but I think it predates that because it just says Werner on it. It's yeller, but I digress. The only thing I can find that resembles it are the Werner Rec and Nantahala. Before I pay $120 for a rec paddle I'll pay $160 for the Nantahala, but before I pay that I thought I'd ask if anyone has anything similar they want to part with. 58 inches be the magic length. Please and thanks.

Purty! Don't think Echo would be willing to sell me anything though. Clearly says their paddles are for discriminating paddlers. ![Poke :poke2:](./images/smilies/poke.gif)

I have a Werner rec and it is great. My skills are just fine with it. They are bomb proof.
Re: I need a good paddlin'
If it's good enough for you it's definitely good enough for me. Maybe I should rethink.

A paddle is like a pen. Some people just like a good 'ole Bic, but some people can really appreciate a nice fancy one. Not saying anything bad about the people who prefer a Bic, they stay happy without spending a lot of money. Me, I hate Bics.

Just about everything Peter Mitchell makes these days can be semi-custom. I would ask about havving an aluminum tip or dynel edging.

Are you calling my Werner rec a Bic? A Carlisle snake beater may be a Bic, but not my Werner. I have a Mowhawk that is a Bic. But not my Werner.

Went to Ozark Outdoor this afternoon to get a Werner Rec. They didn't have my size. I walked out with a Foxworx Excel. Came with a dynel wrap and set me back $93 including tax after my ACC discount. I like it.

They rarely have anything in my size. Did they say thank you?Deuce wrote:Went to Ozark Outdoor this afternoon to get a Werner Rec. They didn't have my size. I walked out with a Foxworx Excel. Came with a dynel wrap and set me back $93 including tax after my ACC discount. I like it.

I sometimes get really frustrated with them, especially when I call ahead and am told they have something only to drive from NLR and find they don't. And, they rarely have my size, or type, or anything either. However, in this case I went prepared to be disappointed and was pleasantly surprised. As I recall they did say thank you, but I can't be certain since I was on the phone with someone who needed a shuttle.Tim Eubanks wrote:They rarely have anything in my size. The Werner paddle you were asking about was called a Point. I have 2 of them for sale. Both brand new with plastic on blades in lengths of 56" and 58". $65 each or both for $120
Re: I need a good paddlin'
May be in touch. Even though I just bought that Foxworx I found myself putting it down and picking up the Werner in bony water last Saturday. Also, my main mostest floating buddy needs a paddle, and I think that 56 incher would fit him.
