Free guide trip up the creek (with paddles)

Post by Phil W. » Sat May 11, 2013 2:18 pm

Change of plan since the Big Piney is dropping. At least once a year I canoe from Longpool to the "Mother". Some may view that as crazy. I fish along the way, photo ops, too many to count

When I get to rapids I simple get out and drag the canoe up the fast moving water. The 2nd person can make their way up to the top of the rapid, fishing along the way. You must do this several times before reaching the "Mother". There are a few long pools that I cruse with two fishing poles trolling behind me, yes I've caught some neat and large sized fish that way. :canoe:

I have found paddles, fishing poles, bungee cords out the waazoo, a kayak (that I got back to it's owner as Mr. Moore knew who lost it) and many other items that people have lost. I start looking intently maybe a bend or two from it, never know what you'll find. Once at the rapid I put on my snorkeling stuff and look around some. It is just a fun time.

I have a empty seat or if you have a boat to join me that would be swell. :yahoo:

I hope to be up there 8ish or so in the morning. I'll be driving a 1976 chev pick up with white camper top, Master Naturalist bummer sticker. If anybody is interested and that is too early let me know. :poke2:

Not an all day affair

Phil
