Post by Dustinlee » Mon Apr 15, 2013 5:48 pm

I just bought 2 jackson riviera sot kayaks.I will be using it on mostly class two rivers. What kind of paddles do i need? Should the ends be rounded, feathered, or square?

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. How much flatwater vs moving water, rocks, etc. I'd call Jeremy or Don at Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters and get their 2 cents worth.
I bet you get several recommendations from the users shortly.

Look at Werner Desperado paddle.. Tough paddle and affordable for what you get.

SOT's tend to be a little wider than decked boats. So, you are probably going to want a paddle in the 220 to 230 size range depending on your heighth. I'd look at something from Harmony, Aqua Bound or Bending Branches. They each make a wide selection of paddles for different types of paddling. The suggestion to call the good folks at OOO is spot on. They won't steer you wrong.
