Creeks near Wolf Pen Gap

Post by gma06001- » Wed Mar 27, 2013 11:19 am

I've been working out on the streams that run through WPG ATV area lately (near Mena) and I was just wondering if anyone had ever scouted or run any of them. Gap Creek and Board Camp creek are tributaries to the Ouachita River and flow on forest service land through wolf pen gap, and then private land to the Ouachita River. Mine Creek is just over the ridge and is a trib to the upper Cossatot. All of them had some really awesome looking sections from the atv trails. I'll know more after a month or so after we survey the entire length of Board Camp and Gap Creeks. Let me know if you've run any of them!

Not sure what kind of action your looking for.... If you want a high pucker factor this ain't it .... Plus very hard to catch at an acceptable level.... If you do, go all the way to McGuire access.... Several nice rapids on the river just far between them....I normally put in at a bridge north of b.c..... The road # escapes me....easy to find... About a 2 hour run...
