WTB: Buffalo Canoe

Looking for a good used 16ft Buffalo. Prefer something that hasn't been wrapped 15 times. Closer to Russellville the better. I've checked with Moore Outdoors, Turner Bend, and called Buffalo directly.

Check paddleswap.com. There was a sixteen foot Buffalo purported to be in excellent condition somewhere up in your neck of the woods.

By the way, Tulsa started out with driving conditions not that bad. Now it is terrible with wrecks all over. Big problem is speed and folks are rear ending and sliding off the road and blocking traffic.

I expect this stuff to hit the Great State of Arkansas later on.

Just curious; what do you plan to use it for?

Just floating around here. Piney, Buffalo, nothing extreme. Probably just float fishing and camping. I've never owned a Buffalo but have floated in a lot of them and just partial to them.

Do you have something you are trying to get rid of?

No. I was just wondering because there are lots of boats that would work well for that, but if your heart is set on a Buffalo I'll keep my peepers peeled.

Known the guy for many moons, I thought I had a lot of experience (boats, guns,good places to eat/hunt/drink in the GA TN NC boating area, little known SE area boaters who contributed to our sport) but Eric knows more. Eric and wife were two of the boaters that blazed the trail for us South Eastern boaters back in the day a Grumman Shoe Keel 15 footer was the hot play boat. I had one that just beat me up a bunch but being young and foolish I thought it was neat. Glad he is out here from the SE.

But Dave - I'm just a young whipper snapper compared to you. But I will get anyone addicted to paddleing if I can. Found paddlers for 12 boats that were lonely last year or 12 boats for 12 paddlers, how ever you want to look at it.

Had the pleasure yesterday of getting to see and talk with Al and Ana Donaldson at Two Brothers Canoe factory in Garfield while Al outfitted a new custom trimmed Arkota into an "Alkota". Wished they could have stayed around for supper, but their cabin was waiting and I think they did not want to risk bad weather catching them on the road. Got to drop off a baby present for Ava Penelope Shaw while I was there.

I'll keep my ears and eyes peeled for a bargain Buffalo as well.

Been calling on an advertisement for a "17' Whitesell canoe" out east - Noland never got into LONG boats that I knew of, but the number I had for him is no longer in service so I haven't asked him. Willing to bet it is a Piranha. Might be in good shape being garage kept and not used much. Price was right if you are going east.

Last time I went by Nolan's Shop it looked kind of shut down. I did not stop to check was headed down to spend money at NOC Outfitters Store. Scored a pair of 5.10 Tennies boat shoes. Last pair in my size they had.
