Removing marker ink from paddle blade

Post by MaxTexan » Thu Feb 14, 2013 7:46 am

I recently purchased a used AT paddle with fiberglass blade. The previous owner thought I need some of philosophical statements written on the paddle in permanent marker ink. Any suggestions as to how to remove.?

A little dab of acetone on a rag might work.

This is going to sound funny but Mr clean magic eraser well take it off. I had a boat and paddle with permanent marker on it as well and it came off.

You are correct Tom, I should have added, to rinse with soap and water immediately to help stop the reaction if possible, especially if using on plastics. From my limited experience, it did Ok on fiberglass and related epoxies, and did well cleaning up what I got on my hands, but it's still pretty astringent so to speak, and a powerful chemical.

If the magic eraser doesn't work, try drawing over the letters with a dry erase marker then wipe it off. Not sure about a paddle blade, but works good on dry erase boards.
