At the end of 2012 myself, Tony Becker, Matt Brook and Andy Holt ( all from the UK ) headed off to Guatemala.
This is the video of that trip https://vimeo.com/57746541" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Matt and Tony have a couple of magazine (UK) reports coming out soon that will enhance this video clip. Coming soon.
The trip, for me, was more than the kayaking experience. Culture and just getting there to put a blade in the water was testament to the team.
Matt Brook played a massive part, as far as I'm concerned, in getting us safe over the Mexican / Guatemalan border when we were all crying for our mummy ( well I was ). Tony Becker reassured me when the going got tough in the inner villages of Guatemala and Andy dug deep when we needed focused leadership in the extraction in deep jungle! As for my contribution, I guess I was there scared and enjoyed the trip of a life time with very experienced travelers on the trip!
Team work counted on this trip. I'm very proud to say I kayaked with Tony, Matt and Andy in a far flung part of the world and enjoyed every part of the experience!
Fortune favors the brave!

Re: Guatemala trip video
Good Day James,
Thanks always for sharing the great pictures and video of your paddeling trips. The rivers you all paddle are always challenging, and scenery always just beautiful. I can tell from this Guatemala trip that the shuttles and logistics were the most challenging and difficult, and only possible with the teamwork of you and your friends!
Thanks again for your trip report! Later on, if there should be a link to Matt and Tony's magazine articles, please do pass that on to us.
Best Regards
Jim

Re: Guatemala trip video
Wow! Those were some neat clips. I look forward to seeing more of your adventures. Thank you for sharing them with us. Doing desents into narrow woody gorges with the threat of flash floods is hair raising. I'm glad you were able to walk out safely. Keep safe.
