Mulberry River Clean Up Day is Saturday March 2nd

Post by Turner Bend » Wed Jan 23, 2013 9:32 am

Saturday March 2nd marks the 22nd annual time that volunteers gather together for the Mulberry River Clean Up Day. Some pick up trash on the shuttle roads and access points. Others float short sections of the Mulberry picking up trash along the way. Check in at Turner Bend around 9:00 to choose your section of road or river. Around 1:00 we will gather at the gazebo for refreshments. Then around 3:00 we will have a door prize drawing. All help is greatly appreciated for this very necessary yearly effort. Call 479-667-3641 with any questions.

I was hoping this would be canceled due to lack of trash...maybe next year!! This is the same weekend as the ACC Board meeting at Lake Fort Smith and the Razorback home basketball game with Kentucky at 3:00 PM. You can still count on me to do some cleaning, will just have to hit it early!!!!!

My family and I will be there -- unless the river is running --- We are coming up for the board meeting and might be board.

I will try to make it Saturday morning but as with lots of others, I've got the ACC Board meeting late Sat afternoon thru Sunday.

OH YEAH!!! Can't wait to participate!!

On a sidenote, this is my favorite annual cleanup of any river or stream. Furthermore, this cleanup is the model that I try to follow for most of the cleanups that I carry out, or work with others to carry out.

You can't beat the volunteer friendly atmosphere, complete with rewards and GREAT FOOD!!

Okay, so the food ain't always as good at the cleanups I carry out, and we don't have boats to loan out to folks.....or water to float on usually.....and so on....

Many thanksto Brad and to the entire Turner Bend Gang for all y'all do!!

Is anyone driving up from Little Rock? I might be interested in paddling and cleaning up the river.

Thanks-
