Central caravan to Mulberry Saturday 2/2

Post by Lupe » Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:33 pm

A group of us are going to trek West to the Mulberry on Saturday. This is where we hold ww school each year, but for those of us in the Central part of the state, we don't get to paddle this river that often, so this looks like a lovely Saturday for a little look-see to re-acquaint ourselves with the Mighty Mulberry.

This is NOT the crack of dawn crew, so expect a very reasonable late morning meet up time to allow for our longer driving distances. I''ll update later with our expected Little Rock departure and Turner Bend arrival times.

We're thinking of Redding to Big Eddy, which we believe is about 5.5 miles with a leisurely pace as we reconnoiter places where we can <make newbies swim> teach our students valuable whitewater skills.

Update:

We aim to roll into Turner Bend at 11:30am.

We have a couple cars leaving from the Bryant / Little Rock area that would add a rider or 2 if folks want to carpool. Post up!

If by some miracle my antibiotics kick in by tomorrow, I would love to go. If you don't hear from me in the morning, assume I am still in bed hacking away.

I am SO bummed that rivers are running and I am sick. And I love the Mulberry. Not fair, not fair, not fair!

Mike and I are going and might be able to take a kayaker or two if they can meet at the commuter lot near Crystal Hill in NLR.

I say, and I intend it emphatically, let the river be.

I wanna ride out with my SUP! Where can I meet y'all? I'll bring some fuzzy drinks to share.
