How about a GPS fix on the large monolith at the end of the video ?
I assume that must be Little cedar since I have floated Trace and Bear without seeing that big rock?

I see I should have started this when I was 20. I never tried anything like that. That looks like alot of fun. Looks like no place for my sit on tops.

PS, cool video

I enjoy making the videos. It is really teaching me how to be a better paddler because I can go back and watch my mistakes! I also think it gives people a view of these places they haven't yet paddled. It's a first hand view of the creek.
Here is the lat longs for the monolith. It should get you within 50 yards. 34*52'01"N 93*02'16"W
Turn onto Forest road 86 off of Hwy 7. Go about 3 miles to Forest road 793 on the right. Drive about a 3/4 mile to the first low water bridge. Hike down stream from there on river left.

Thanks for the GPS fix.

I was hiking in near Forked Mt about 20 years ago (before GPS was common) and came down from the mt a different route and got lost for a short time, I remember walking by this monolith beside little cedar creek , but I have not been back to it.

You should learn when to portage strainers.

Hahaha! Yes! Lesson learned. In fact I did portage later down the river for a strainer. Sometime you got to do things to make the video more interesting. Maybe I was just trying to break it free for the next paddler! Lol!

That part at the 34 second mark looks just like Bayou Deview!
Nice video.

Totally self-serving comment: That green bow you see 737 lovingly holding at about 0:30, yeah, that's my new Shiva!

Flyfsh, don't sell yourself short, if the desire is strong enough who knows what you could still do. At least two of us are getting to the point where the term "old geezer" usually makes us laugh instead of get defensive.

On strainers - points well taken. The more experienced folks in our group managed to successfully get past it. The very low levels allowed the less experienced folks to work on building some experience at this kind of creeking with relatively low potential consequences. I hope all recognize: Don't Try this at High Water!
