Saturday 1/12
We had posted on another thread that we would be meeting at 10:30 for the Fourche again on Saturday. Supposedly, there's a 100% chance of heavy rain most of tomorrow, so we're going to size up how things look about 8am in the morning and make a decision. If storms really look to be moving in early, we might wait and see if something else comes up quick enough to hit, and save a longer day of paddling for Sunday (although it'll be pretty cold on Sunday). If it's not so clear that the rain really is moving in (because it's quite clear that these forecasts can leave us skunked), then we may in fact still be going to the Fourche.
We'll post an update in the morning to confirm go or no go on Fourche and if not, if we're going to go someplace else.
Cheers
Heather (on behalf of Heather, Mitch and Bob)

Re: Saturday 1/12
Please keep me posted as I may join you all tomorrow. I'm in NWA (3hrs away) and may head down that way tomorrow. If you do the S. Fourche, do you typically do the full 11 miles? Or is there shorter trips? Thanks, Zach

Re: Saturday 1/12
Zack today we did boat the full 11 miles on the south Fourche. Billy Williams has told us how to cut off several miles but we have of yet not tried it ,tomorrow I would suggest that if we do do the Fourche we try and find the alternative put-in. In the mean time we'll wait and see what tomorrow brings. Heather will post for our little group i the morning. can't wait. BOB

Thanks Bob! I plan on leaving Bentonville at 700 and heading in that general direction. I will watch this post and/or text me at 4796446018 if things change.

Re: Saturday 1/12
After studying the weather maps and forecasts and generally just thinking how bad I want to boat...
I'm leaning more towards that this trip will remain a GO but again will confirm in the morning. My fear is if we pass on the Fourche thinking something else will come up, we might be sitting all day and the heavy rain not come until too late. I'm not feeling lucky, so I'd rather take my "sure thing" than gamble! Plus, like 70 degrees tomorrow? Hello!
If we head that to the Fourche in the morning and the radar DOES look foreboding, we can opt for the shorter run.
Zach - we also might be able to have you meet at the take out instead of the put in (deberrie bridge off of 155) which will save you some time coming from the north.
All these and other fascinating details all to be revealed in the morning. Guess I better go set my alarm.

I may be joining everyone. Is there anyone else thinking about coming from Little Rock? I can haul at least one canoe or kayak and gear.
Re: Saturday 1/12
Three Signorellis may join your group - we'll check the weather and watch for your updates in the morning. Thanks!

Re: Saturday 1/12
Okay - we're going!
All are welcome to join, but be advised we will very likely be paddling in rain much of the day and could still be on the water when some heavier storms develop. Come prepared for a little adventure!
10:30am meet at USFS campground at Hollis on Hwy 7. See you all there!
John, Torpedo - I'm coming from Little Rock but will be driving my own car...see you all there.

Re: Saturday 1/12
Turned out to be a great day on the river.
But does anyone know who else put on? We found out a guy and gal put on an hour behind us. The river is really surging now, so I want to make sure whoever it was got off okay. They had a black pickup w OK plates.
Thanks!
