Had a great time on the river with Billy and Bob

here's a quick edit of our trip on the Fourche . It was nice to get some snow melt and to finally get out and run an Arkansas creek!!!!

I ran it in mid September and it was clear. We find the South Fourche best at levels greater than 4 feet. So the sooner you run it the better. Name your time and day I'm in. Post details. Not too early so we can catch the warmth of the day. BOB

That gage reading looks suspicious, holding steady for so long. Better keep an eye on it. I may be in if the gage looks believable. I'm guessing the gage is stuck and that the level will be in the low, but floatable range.
Could still paddle the South Fourche, OR the Little Mo from Highway 84 to road 12000 which I project be running about 3.8, another low but floatable level with a lot more play and shorter pools.

At 12:45 the gage had dropped .02 feet so maybe it is working and the melting snow is holding the level steady.
The Little Missouri River gage height is on a trajectory that will put the level at 3.85 at noon Thursday, a prime level for novice paddlers with lots of small play spots and lots of challenging rock gardens to wiggle through. The forecast for the Little Mo area on Thursday is SUNNY, 50 DEGREES, AND A 9 MPH TAILWIND.
Since paddling the S. Fourche on Thursday means paddling into a HEADWIND and less play, I am going to opt for the Little Mo unless the gage prediction is way off.

I was at the Deberry Low water bridge, around 6:00 pm the level was still mid 4 ft. range. My best guess is it will hold or drop slowly thru the night. there was still over an inch of snow or more over the entire watershed might even bump again tomorrow afternoon to mid 4ft range. I'll be at the low water bridge around 10;30 - 11.00 am.

I am definitely not going to be there, just so no one waits by some odd chance.

Nice video...
Not sure who Jim might be...but looks to me like you all got to paddle with Billy Williams. Hard to recognize him in a boat with volume, though! LOL!
Sure wish I could have made this (but I had to go back to work)!
Cheers
I've heard that into every life a little of it must fall,
but you'll never catch me complaining about too much of that southern rain.
