Our family is looking at floats on the middle/lower end. We've typically floated the upper end. It seems like I've read about some of the access points aren't good to leave vehicles at (i.e. upriver of Hwy. 14). Two families with our own boats, so we can shuttle easy enough, but didn't want to have issues with vehicle break ins, etc.
I've been looking at the Maumee/Spring Creek to Buffalo Point area as an option.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Re: Buffalo access points
I've left my truck at Maumee north, Dillard's Ferry, Spring Creek and Rush for periods ranging from twelve to 36 hours and never had any issues. There's risk any time you leave your vehicle unattended in a semi-remote location, but I wouldn't hesitate to leave mine at any of the places you've mentioned. YMMV.

Re: Buffalo access points
Check the river levels to determine the put on.
It would be difficult to get down anything above Buffalo Point.
Rush to White river may be the only thing left....

Re: Buffalo access points
Deuce, thanks for the info. Good to hear. Looks like we'll be looking at a Spring Creek or Maumee North launch.
Paddledog, we're looking to Spring, this time of year that's what helps keep my sanity...although 70 degrees in December is pretty nice (odd, but nice).
Thanks again.

Very welcome. Be sure and post up your trips (unless you don't want a bunch of goofy paddlers eating all your s'mores). I plan on immersing (hopefully not literally) my ten year old daughter in canoe camping this year.Yellcounty wrote:Deuce, thanks for the info. Good to hear.
